Boys Watching Baseball Game |

source: Semi-Weekly News: 08 June 1897, Vol. 13, No. 46 |
The triangular shaped piece of land just east of the ball park which belongs to the McCoy estate, contains a number of cedar and fruit trees which have been available for the small boys as a vantage point since the opening of the new base ball season. Each day these trees are literally alive with boys. A NEWS artist, with a Kodak, caught to of these threes and their occupants during the Springfield-Mansfield game on the afternoon of Memorial Day and a cut made from the picture is here presented. The scene will be easily recognized as true to life by the regular attendants at the game.
