The first Bowman School was erected on 3.3 acres of ground purchased from the Uhlich heirs.  It was a four-room building and was constructed so a wing could be added to the norh end whenever necessary.  The original cost was $8,581.50.   [H.L. Creveling School Dedication Booklet, 06 May 1952]

After additions were added to school, 1950.  At this time the name of the school was changed to H.L. Creveling School, in honor of H.L. Creveling who was principal of the school for 34 years.
