Oct. 1, 1831 Rev. Francis J. Ruth came from Maryland to preach to Lutherans in Mansfield area.
1832 Rev. Ruth organized 15 Lutherans into The First Lutheran Church
1836-1841 First resident pastor, Rev. George Leiter.  Lutheran join with German Reformed to purchase Methodist church building located on Water St.  (Adams)
1841-1842 Rev. H.K. Hennick
1843-1845 Rev. Leiter returns.
1845-1848 Rev. J.H. Huffman
1849 Rev. Simon Fenner (Zenner) separated English and German interests.
May 5, 1850 First English Lutheran Church organized.  Reformed and German Lutherans left with no definite organization for 2 years but they continued to worship together.
