• Elected Worshipful Master on 03 July 1841, under his leadership the following men received their degrees:  Hiram Humphreys, Jonas Stough, John Lamb, Robert W. McNeil, David McCullough and Joseph Hildreth

• Born in Beaver Co., Penn. on 02 February 1802

• Studied law in the office of General Moore in Beaver, and then removed to Canton, Ohio to begin building his law practice

• Came to Mansfield in 1828

• Raised a company and left for the front when the Mexican War broke out

• Resumed his law practice in 1847, which he continued until the spring of 1861, when he went into military service once again

• Died on 23 July 1862 on the Big Sandy River in Kentucky

• Interred at Mansfield with military honors
