Prof. Edmund D. Lyon

Recently elected superintendent of the Mansfield Public Schools to succeed Prof. J.W. Knott.  Mr. Lyon is a graduate of the Ohio Wesleyan University at Delaware and was principal of the Mansfield High School two years, previous to which he was superintendent of the public schools at Berea.

According to the Richland Shield & Banner dated May 9, 1896 (Vol. LXXVIII, No. 52), E.D. Lyon was re-elected to serve as superintendent of the school board for a two-year term.  The first year he was to receive a salary of $2,000, with an increase up to $2,200 for the second year.
