17 January 1884, Vol. 7, No. 16

Bellville.  Married, at the Lutheran parsonage, Thursday, January 10th., by Rev. J.W. Kapp, Mr. Augustus Hanson and Miss Sarah E. Beal.

24 January 1884, Vol. 7, No. 17

Bellville.  Married, at the residence of the bride's mother, Jan. 17th., by Rev. J.W. Kapp, Mr. Calvin Aungst and Miss Kate Myers.

07 February 1884, Vol. 7, No. 19

Bellville.  Mr. Henry Clever and Miss Eva Fry were married at the residence of the bride's parents, near town, Thursday, Jan. 31st., by Rev. S.E. Rife, in the presence of many guests.  The happy couple received a number of presents, and numerous well-wishes for their future welfare.

Bellville.  Married, Jan. 31st., at the Lutheran parsonage, by Rev. J.W. Kapp, Mr. John F. Walters and Miss Mary C. Shafer, both of Johnsville.

Bellville.  Married, at the Pres. parsonage on Tuesday evening, the 5th. inst., by Rev. W.W. Anderson, assisted by Rev. H. Fulton, of Lexington, Mr. Orange Hamilton and Miss Amanda Daily, both of this vicinity.

21 February 1884, Vol. 7, No. 21

Married, at the residence of the bride's mother, on the evening of the 14th. of February, by W.C. Black, Esq., Mr. William C. Shafer and Miss Mary M. Culp, all of Perry Township.  'Squire Black made the twin one in a manner that did credit to his office, and followed the ceremony with an appropriate and impressive prayer.

Bellville.  Mr. Lewis Ainsworth and Miss Emma Glosser were married at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. Larue LeFever, Thursday, the 21st. inst., by Rev. J.W. Kapp.

The marriage of Mr. Daniel Freehafer and Miss Ursula F. Larabee was solemnized Feb. 28th., at the Evangelical parsonage, Independence, by Rev. S.E. Rife. 

13 March 1884, Vol. 7, No. 24

Independence.  Married, Sunday, at the residence of the bride's parents by Rev. S.E. Rife, Mr. Thomas Clever and Miss Mary Bemiller.  We wish them a prosperous voyage through life.

03 April 1884, Vol. 7, No. 27

Newville.  On last Sabbath evening we had the pleasure of being present at the marriage ceremony of Loyal Greer and Maggie Cates.  After the ceremony was performed by 'Squire Wigton and the usual congratulations given, we were invited into the dining room, and sat down to a bountiful table.  After spending the evening very pleasantly all went to their homes.

24 April 1884, Vol. 7, No. 30

Bellville.  Married, at the residence of John Ramsey last Sunday eve, by John G. Staunton, J.P., Mr. Jerry Reed, of Knox Co., to Miss Arvilla G. Greer.  The intention was to have the ceremony pronounced on the Clear Fork bridge, but it being too late in the evening the happy couple retired to the residence above named, by request of Mr. R.

08 May 1884, Vol. 7, No. 32

On Sunday, May 4th., 1884, a few intimate friends and neighbors convened at the residence of Mr. Samuel Secrist to witness the marriage ceremony of Mr. Albert Hitchman, of Independence, and Miss Martha A. Secrist.  The nuptial knot was tied by Rev. W.A. Shisler, of Independence.

26 June 1884, Vol. 7, No. 39

On Wednesday evening, the 18th. inst., Mr. Charles W. Eastman, of Winterset, Iowa, and Miss Abbie B. Lafferty, of this place, were married by Rev. W.W. Anderson, at the bride's parents, in the presence of relatives and immediate friends. 

Independence.  Married, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. F.M. Hart, of Mansfield, to Miss Emma Plank, by Rev. W.A. Shisler.  Happiness to you.

10 July 1884, Vol. 7, No. 41

Bellville.  Married, Wednesday, July 9th., Mr. W.H. Batterson, of Mansfield, and Mrs. E.F. Warren, of this place, in the presence of near relatives.  Their wedding tour comprises a trip to Chicago, by way of Cleveland and the lakes.

02 October 1884, Vol. 8, No. 1

Independence.  Married, Mr. Wilbur Colyer and Miss Jennie Traxler, last Sunday, at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. Lester Traxler, by Rev. W.A. Shisler.  We extend our felicitations.  They will move to Newark, where Mr. Colyer is engaged in railroading. 

09 October 1884, Vol. 8, No. 2

Independence.  Married, at the bride's residence, on Sunday morning, Mr. Michael Secrist, to Mrs. Leah Secrist, widow of the late Rev. John Secrist.  Rev. W.A. Shisler had the honor of uniting this old couple in the holy bonds of matrimony.  

16 October 1884, Vol. 8, No. 3

Independence.  Married, Mr. Albert Daugherty to Miss Nancy Teeter.  Rev. Kline officiated.

Independence.  Married, Mr. Douglass Scott and Miss Martha Warren, Sunday, by Rev. H. Keller.  They have our well wishes.

30 October 1884, Vol. 8, No. 4

Independence.  One of the happy events of the fall campaign was the marriage of Mr. Dayton Alexander to Miss Anna Cates, daughter of Mr. John Cates.  The ceremony was performed by J.G. Staunton, J.P., at the home of the bride, in the presence of a multitude of friends and relatives;  after which all partook of a sumptuous supper.

Mr. Dennis K. Leedy and Miss Ella M. Wise were married the evening of the 30th. ult. by Rev. Isaac Leedy, an uncle of the groom, and a reception was held at the residence of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leedy, Friday.

13 November 1884, Vol. 8, No. 7

Bellville.  Married, at the Presbyterian parsonage, on the evening of the 6th. inst., by Rev. W.W. Anderson, Mr. Jacob Bowman of this place, and Mrs. Lydia S. McDonald.  Although not intended by the parties the wedding and the supper which followed proved to be a celebration of the pastor's birthday.

27 November 1884, Vol. 8, No. 9

Mr. George Blair and Miss Mary Kochheiser were married on Sunday evening, Nov. 23, by Justice W.C. Black, at his residence, in Perry Township.  Both are residents of that township.

Bellville.  Married at the home of the bride, on Bell Street, Nov. 19th., by Justice Otis Howard, Mr. John S. Beal and Mrs. Nancy Weaver.  The marriage was known to but very few of the friends of the contracting parties until several days after it occurred, and when the news gained currency, it occasioned much surprise.

Married, at the Evangelical parsonage at Independence, Dec. 4th., by Rev. W.A. Shisler, Mr. Lewis McCuen and Miss Ida Armstrong.  May life's richest blessings be theirs.
