Mrs. Jane Kingsborough is quite ill with erysipelas.

Mrs. Jacob Clark died last Tuesday morning.  She had been ill for some time.

DIED, At Urbana, Ohio, March 10th., of peritonitis, Clarence L., son of C.J. and Virginia Madden, aged 5 years and 5 months.

DIED, March 7th., at his residence in Shelby, Mr. Daniel Hart, in the 41st. year of his age.  The deceased leaves a wife and three children.  He served in the "Three Month" call, and afterward enlisted for three years.  He was discharged before his term of enlistment had expired, on account of sickness.  He was a member of Co. I, 15th. O.V.I.  The funeral was largely attended by friends, comrades in arms and other citizens.  The procession was

(obituary cont'd)

formed at the house of deceased at 10 A.M., March 10th., viz:  The Shelby band, gun squad, soldiers, clergymen, pall bearers (comrades), hearse, friends, citizens.  The funeral services were held in the Lutheran Church.  After which the procession was again formed as above, and with measured tread marched to Oakland Cemetery where in the honors of war, the body was laid to rest.  Much of the honors conferred upon Mr. Hart, at his burial, are due to the untiring interest and tact of Col. John Dempsey, who will not permit a soldier, however poor, to be buried unhonored.  Thus another name is added to the already long list of our departed heroes.  We tremblingly wonder who the next will be.  In reference to Mr. Hart's life, it is well known that he was not a Christian;  but he was an honest, industrious citizen;  a kind husband and father, and it is believed that God, in his infinite mercy, heard his dying prayers and saved him through faith in the blood of Jesus.  Nec scire fas est omnia.
