DIED, Siegfried Ott, March 28th., at Wertheim, Baden, Germany, aged seventy-five years and 20 days.  Mr. Ott was the father of our townsmen, F.A. and F.B. Ott.  He visited them and two other sons in this country, accompanied by his aged wife, in the summer of 1869, after which he returned to his native land.

DIED, Oliver, infant son of E.D. and Christina Geisinger, was born Sept. 11, 1872, near Ganges, and died April 18th., 1875, aged 2 years, 7 months and 7 days.  Ollie was an interesting and unusually intelligent and devoted child, much beyond his age.  For several days he suffered intensely from spinal disease.  Last Sunday morning about sunrise, the Shepherd of the lambs took him home to enjoy forever the glory and light of heaven.  -- N.H.L.

MARRIED, By Rev. N.H. Loose at his residence, April 15, Mr. Abraham Adams and Miss Jennie Bly.

MARRIED, At the Christian parsonage, by Elder J.W. Lowe on the 20th. inst., Mr. L.J. Setzler and Miss Mary J. Gordon.

DIED, On the 12th. inst., Mrs. Zulima Mattoon, in the seventy-fifth year of her age.  Mrs. Mattoon's maiden name was Van Fleet.  She was born in Orange Co., NY, March 1801, and was married to Mr. Horace Bigelow.  Mr. James Ralston is a son by this first marriage.  Being left a widow for several years, she was married to Mr. Alfred Mattoon in Cayuga Co., N.Y.  They came to the neighborhood of Plymouth, Ohio, in 1833.  Soon after this time Mr. Alfred Mattoon made a public profession in the Waynesburg, Presbyterian Church.  Subsequently they moved to the vicinity of Olivesburg, Ohio, where Mrs. Mattoon united with the Presbyterian church on profession, under the ministry of Rev. J.P. Loyd.  Her husband died in 1854, after which she removed to Shelby, and was for sixteen years a faithful and exemplary member of the Presbyterian Church.  "A mother in Israel" has been called away.  Such a life does not need words of eulogy.  It was a living sermon of humility and trust.  Her memory was a store house full of God's words.  Never was her place in the social prayer-circle vacant, except in sickness or absence from town.  Her last illness was painful, but she was submissive.  She was attached in Christian love to all Christians so that in her death the community and all the church has met with a loss.  -- W.W.A.
