A SAD ACCIDENT -- A sad accident occurred last Thursday night.  Mr. Thomas McGraw, son of Mr. Michael McGraw, residing at the side of the track a little way north on the C.C.C.&I. Ry., of Shelby Junction, was found near his father's house, at the side of the track on Friday morning.  He had several bruises and cuts about his head, and a good many theories were abroad as to the cause of his death.  Some thought he had been murdered;  others that he had fallen from the train, and again others that he had been knocked from the track by the locomotive of a passing train.  The latter was the conclusion arrived at by the jury, who thoroughly investigated the matter.  The wound on the back of his head showed the bone crushed in and pushed upward, which very inprobably would have been the case by a mere blow from an assailant.  He was around town in the evening, and we are informed by one who was present, took a glass of beer at one place, and a glass of whisky at another, and then left for home.  He passed the American House at about half past ten or eleven o'clock, and was next found dead by his brother and sister about four o'clock in the morning.  His funeral took place last Sunday, very numerously attended.  His father, from the effects of hard work on the railroad in the hot sun, several years ago, became blind and this his son, his wife and several younger children were his only means of support for himself and family.  The distress of the family at this sad occurrence, is very great.  They have the general sympathy of the people.

Mrs. Laura Billow is still in a very critical condition.

Rev. D.I. Foust is convalescent and slowly improving.

Mrs. Alex. Huston, residing north of Rome, fell and broke her neck.

George Duffner, an old celebrity and inmate of the Infirmary, was killed on the railroad on his way to the "poor house" from Mansfield on Tuesday of last week.
