List of Those who Received Pensions - Are

Any Buried in Unmarked Graves in This County?

The various chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution have as one branch of their work the marking of the graves of the soldiers of the revolution.  The Mary Washington chapter of this city has decided to enter upon this as its next work and already has the names of a number of revolutionary soldiers buried in this county, some of whose graves are marked, others are entirely neglected.  There are undoubtedly many other such graves which the Daughters would be glad to see properly marked did they know the names, records and burial places of such soldiers.

The following is a list of the names of revolutionary soldiers from Richland county who received government pension.  Doubtless many of these were buried elsewhere.  But any information concerning the burial in this county and present condition of the graves of any whose names are appended sent to the News will be of great assistance to the Daughters  They hope in time to have properly marked the grave of every revolutionary soldier buried in Richland county.  The success, however, of their effort will depend largely upon the assistance given them by those having information regarding the graves of such soldiers:
