Organized at Mansfield, Ohio, August 18, 1862.  Moved to Covington, Ky., September 4-5.  Mustered in September 6.  Duty in the defenses of Cincinnati and Covington until September 22.

Defense of Louisville, Ky., Sept. 24 to Oct. 5, 1862.

Guard of trains from Louisville to Shelbyville, October 5-6.

Battle of Perrysville, Ky., October 8 (in reserve).

March to Crab Orchard, thence to Bowling Green, October 9-30.

Duty at and in vicinity of Clarksville, Tenn., December 25, 1862 to September 21, 1863.

Movement against Wheeler during his Tennessee raid, Sept. 26 to October 20.

Duty at Nashville, Tenn., October 30, 1863 to April 26, 1864.

Moved to Tullahoma, Tenn., April 26.

Duty on the Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad from Normandy to Decherd, April 28 to June 6.

Crossing of the Cumberland Mountains, June 6-10.

Outpost duty on the Tennessee River, from Stevenson, Ala., to the foot of Seven Mile Island, June 10 to September 1.

Patrolling Tennessee and Alabama Railroad, September 1-14.

Duty at Decatur, Ala., September 15 to November 28.

Expedition to re-enforce Athens, Ala., September 23-24.

Action near Athens, September 24.  Many killed, wounded and captured.

Seige of Decatur, Ala., October 26-29.

Operations on the Tennessee River in the rear of Hood's Army, November 3 to December 27.

Excursion of Decatur, and march to Stevenson, Ala., November 25 to December 2.

Duty at Decatur, Ala., January to June, 1865.

Action at Decatur, Ala., March 3.

Mustered out.  June 30, 1865.
