The death of Mrs. Dora Willis, which occurred at her home in Shelby, Wednesday, Nov. 18, was caused by rather peculiar circumstances.  Mrs. Willis slipped and fell, Nov. 5, at her home and was rendered unconscious by the shock.  Rain was falling and she lay in the water some little time, and contracted a severe cold, which induced typhoid fever.  She was believed to be convalescent until the very day of her death when a sudden change came and she passed peacefully away.  Funeral was held Thursday at 4 p.m., conducted by the Methodist minister at Shelby.

Deceased was the wife of Curt Willis, a carpenter at Shelby.  She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Hafer and was born Dec. 11, 1872.  She resided in this city eight years ago with her sister, Mrs. Marion Taylor, of East Second Street.  June 14, 1888, she was united in marriage to Curt Willis and three children, aged 7, 5 and 4 respectively were the result of the union.

Mrs. Willis leaves her husband, the three children, one sister and four brothers:  Mrs. Marion Taylor, John, Alva, Elza and Fred Hafer, of Shelby.
