PLEASANT HALL -- Died:  Mother Fleming, after a long illness, departed this life Tuesday, July 10th.  She was born March 1, 1817.  The funeral was conducted in the Evangelical church by the pastor of the U.B., assisted by Rev. Bone.  The remains were interred in the United Presbyterian graveyard at Hastings.

Sarah Douglass was born March 1st., 1817, in Belmont Co., Ohio, and moved with her parents to this Co. in 1818.  She was married to George Fleming, July 11, 1839.  To them was born ten children, eight of whom survive to mourn the loss of mother.  She has 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Fifty years ago she moved to the farm on which she died.  It then being all in timber, except the few trees which were cut for the erection of the log cabin in which they moved.  She died July 10, 1894, aged 77 years, 4 months and 9 days.  Mother Fleming was a loving wife, an indulgent mother, a kind and obliging neighbor and one who was beloved by all who knew her.  She was most of her life time a regular attendant of the United Presbyterian Church.  Though not belonging to any church organization she expressed her trust in the Lord during her sickness and suffering.  She speaks now to us from the other side with the voice that is only heard in the soul "Learn from the good in my life, learn from the failures, be good to one another."
